Residential Solar
Solar Horizon offers a complete range of solar power system products to meet the requirements of virtually any user. We can design and install the system that is most appropriate for you, at the right price. As engineers specialised in the field of photovoltaics, we know solar inside out so you can be assured that the information that we provide you is the most complete, relevant, objective and accurate that you will find. We are not ‘locked in' to any one supplier or technology, though we do prefer to use Kyocera Solar Modules where appropriate due to their superior quality, performance and environmental track record.
The process is simple and easy:
Make sure your home is suited to solar: Before looking any further go and have a look at your roof. You will need a North, East or West facing, unshaded roof with at least 8m2 of clear space. The closer to North the better, although there is only a small decrease in energy production for east and west facing roofs. If the roof is affected by small amounts of shading then give us a call for advice as to its suitability.
Choose a system size. This will depend on a few things: how much electricity you would like to generate, how much roof space you have available and the cost of the different size systems. Contact us today and we will discuss your requirements and send you a brochure pack with more information.
Install. Once you have chosen the right size system for your home, we will apply to the network provider to connect the solar power generator to the grid and will conduct the insallation. Installation typically takes about a 1-2 days after which the system can be commissioned and your home is turned into a renewable power generator.
The following calculator calculates the energy production, emissions savings, array area and approximate cost of a high quality Solar Horizon solar power system depending on the system size, orientation, location and slope of the roof. Flat roofs require some additional mounting hardware to tilt the array (to increase exposure and prevent the build up of dust) and as such cost a little more than systems with the panels flat against the roof. Please note that all cost estimates include all rebates, installation and GST and are approximate only and are subject to change. All Solar Horizon prices do include the installation of a new electricity meter required by the electricity network authority. Please don't hesitate to contact us for a formal quote.
